- Applications
- Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
- Western blot analysis of BMPR1A polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3832) in mouse heart lysate. BMPR1A was detected as a specific doublet (arrows) at 60-65 kDa using purified polyclonal antibody. Secondary HRP-anti-rabbit was used for signal visualization with chemiluminescence.
- Western Blot (Cell lysate)
- Western blot analysis of BMPR1A polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3832) in CEM cell line lysates (35 ug/lane). BMPR1A (arrow) was detected using the purified polyclonal antibody.
- Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
- Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue reacted with BMPR1A polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3832) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.
- Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
- Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brainreacted with BMPR1A polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3832), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining.
This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
- Immunohistochemistry
- Immunohistochemical staining of WT1, a podocyte-specific protein (top), and the BMPR1A receptor (middle) in podocytes of human kidney tissues gained from patients undergoing nephrectomy because of renal cancer. In contrast to the BMPR1A receptor, the BMPR2 receptor was not found in the glomerulus but can be clearly distinguished in monocytes infiltrating the glomerulus (bottom).
- Immunofluorescence
- Immunofluorescence analysis of BMPR1A polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3832) in frozen section of human brain tissue.
0.005 mg/mL primary antibody was followed by FITC-conjugated anti-rabbit antibody. FITC-conjugated anti-rabbit antibody emits green fluorescence. Blue counterstaining is Hoechst 33258.

- bone morphogenetic protein receptor, type IA
- Gene Ontology:

- Gene Summary:
- The bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptors are a family of transmembrane serine/threonine kinases that include the type I receptors BMPR1A and BMPR1B and the type II receptor BMPR2. These receptors are also closely related to the activin receptors, ACVR1 and ACVR2. The ligands of these receptors are members of the TGF-beta superfamily. TGF-betas and activins transduce their signals through the formation of heteromeric complexes with 2 different types of serine (threonine) kinase receptors: type I receptors of about 50-55 kD and type II receptors of about 70-80 kD. Type II receptors bind ligands in the absence of type I receptors, but they require their respective type I receptors for signaling, whereas type I receptors require their respective type II receptors for ligand binding.
